Ready to Ship Date

The ready to ship date indicates when an item is ready to leave our facility. For made to order items, which encompass the majority of our offering, that date includes the time to build the item.

Shipping Options

Please note: shipping options vary by item. Your cart will reflect the shipping options available for your order.

FedEx Shipping
FedEx shipping options are available for select furniture and smaller items such as lighting and accessories. Once your order is ready for shipment, delivery occurs within the timeframes indicated below, based on the chosen option.

Standard & Premium Inside Delivery Options
Our Standard Delivery and Premium Inside Delivery options are used for large products, heavier items, and items that require assembly or installation. Once your order is ready to ship, delivery occurs within 5 to 10 business days to the continental US and within 10 to 15 business days to Alaska and Hawaii. Our delivery partner will contact you within 24 to 48 hours of receiving the product in their local terminal to schedule a mutually agreed upon date and 4-hour delivery window.

There are a number of delivery options available to offer you the level of service appropriate for your order. To determine if the product you are interested in requires assembly or installation, please refer to the specifications tab on each product page.

Shipping Charges

Free shipping is available on most office chairs, and $29 flat rate shipping is available on most other chairs. Other products ship based on the selected shipping option and order total, as indicated below.

If your order includes any of the chairs that ship for free or for a flat rate of $29, their price is not included in your order total for calculating shipping charges. Please note that for multi-item orders, free and $29 shipping on chairs only applies when your entire order is shipped via the free shipping method that applies to the chair included in your order (FedEx Ground or Standard Delivery, based on the item).

Two office chairs—Aeron Chair and Setu Chair—are available for free FedEx Ground shipping.

Other office chairs are available for free shipping via Standard Delivery. These include: Embody Chair, Sayl Chair, Mirra Chair, Mirra 2 Chair, Celle Chair, Caper Multipurpose Chair, Sayl Side Chair with Sled Base, Sayl Side Chair with Stacking Base, Setu Side Chair, and Aeron Side Chair.

At this time, free shipping is not available for Aeron and Setu chairs when they are part of an order that contains other office chairs.

All other chairs are available for $29 flat rate shipping via Standard Delivery. Exceptions to this include the Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman, Eames Chaise, Eames Molded Plastic Side Chair, Eames Fiberglass Side Chair, Caper Stacking Chair, and Nelson Coconut Chair. As with all other products offered in our store, shipping for these items is charged based on a percentage of your order total as described below.

Shipping Charges—Standard & Premium Delivery Options

If your order includes any of the chairs that ship for free or for a flat rate of $29, their price is not included in your order total for calculating shipping charges. Here's how the cost of FedEx Ground shipping would be calculated for an example order that includes Aeron Chairs:

2 Aeron Chairs ($689 each, or $1,378 total)
1 Flo Dual Monitor Support ($379)
1 Flute Personal Light ($259)

Order Total for Shipping Calculation = $638 ($379 + $259).
In this case, only the Flo Dual Monitor Support and the Flute Personal Light are included in your order total for calculating shipping, since the Aeron Chairs qualify for free shipping.

This puts the total order in the 7% shipping bracket.

FedEx Ground Total = $44.66
Breakdown of delivery cost: Aeron chairs ship free + $44.66 for the Flow Dual Monitor Support and Flute Personal Light ($638 x 7%).

Track Your Shipment

You will receive a shipment confirmation with a tracking number when your order ships. Tracking numbers may take up to 72 hours to be reflected in our delivery partner's tracking system. Therefore, delivery status information may not be available until the following business day. Please call us if you are unable to see your delivery status after 72 hours. You can also track your order status by clicking the Order Status link located at the top right corner of any page on our site.

International Shipping

Today, the Herman Miller Store ships to within the 50 United States only. If you are looking to purchase internationally, please use our Global Dealer Locator to find a dealer near you. We do not currently accept orders for US Territories, FBP and APO addresses.

If you need product service or repair, please contact the Herman Miller dealer, retailer, or our online store where you purchased your product. They will be able to make the final determination whether the issue is specifically covered under the warranty and eligible for replacement or repair.
